Shaan Kirpalani is a Los Angeles-based writer and editor. His work is an action-packed alembic distilling complex (and not-so complex) contemporary issues, memes and themes into concise prose, unsprawly narratives, and words that he makes up because they fit nice, like unsprawly. He has a degree in Political Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Masters of Science in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco. He has written on a wide-range of topics from Greenwashing and the advertising industry to social networking and the new silent majority. He also has worked as a copywriter and as a book editor. His first name, an eyebrow-raiser in America, is wildly popular in India where it was the namesake of a 1980 Bollywood blockbuster he has yet to see.
